Nice shot, your sun is blown out too but I think you get away with it more because of the rays. The sea looks very calm, I don't see the sea like this where I am. I like the compo, how the rocks lead my eye in from the left to right and then curl to face the sun.

Yea you're perfectly right the sun is blown although I tried to hide it behind the clouds at that time :)

My mistake is bigger than yours because, I think, that a more careful exposure, might have made a difference in my case (since the clouds are helping) whereas in your case it is not an exposure thing but a lack of clouds.

Ah yep, it's also about timing in yours as you have to anticipate when the sun is going behind a cloud and capture it just before it disappears. It's all good fun anyway.
